Sea Safe Life Guard is working to prevent any accident of tourists taking a bath at Cox’s Bazar beach.
Life guard workers are on watch from sunrise to sunset. Tourists bathe at 10 points of the beach, but life guard workers work at 3 points. 30 workers provide this service to tourists in two shifts.
On the one hand, there is a manpower crisis in these vital activities funded by 3 non-governmental organizations, and on the other hand, their funding may also be stopped this year. Imtiaz Ahmed, the project officer of Sea Safe Life Guard, said that, if the district administration wants to keep these services continue they can increase the manpower and keep the service running.
Tourists said that the manpower of life guard workers should be increased to keep bathing on the beach safely.
Meanwhile, Additional District Magistrate Abu Sufian said that discussions are going on with the non-governmental organization, otherwise the ministry will be contacted and arrangements will be made to keep it running.
