Armed Forces Day was celebrated in Ramu cantonment in a befitting manner.On Monday afternoon, Ramu 10 infantry Division celebrated the day by flying pigeons of peace, blowing balloons and cutting cakes.
In the speech of the Chief Guest, Major General Md. Fakhrul Ahsan, Area Commander of 10th Infantry Division, said that armed forces contribute to the overall development of the country through tackling any disaster at the national level, building infrastructure, serving humanity, countering terrorism in chittagong hill track , suppressing militants, assisting the civil administration and various nation-building activities. In addition, UN peace keeping activities have brightened the image of the country in the international arena.
Members of Parliament Saimum Sarwar Kamal, Ashek Ullah Rafiq, Deputy Commissioner Mamunur Rashid, Superintendent of Police Mahfuzul Islam, military and civil administration officials, local dignitaries and journalists were present on the occasion.
Later 204 freedom fighters were given an honor crest.
